Initial Contact

Ray contacted me about a month before the day he was planning on proposing to his girlfriend, Ally.

I was of course, super excited to work with him on planning this engagement!

However, a few things were a little bit unknown about the location, timing, and the exact timeline. This is where we decided it would be best for me to go visit the location with one of his friends (who got the reservation in the first place) to get a feel of the location.

We visited Station 324 near downtown Columbus and to my surprise, it was actually a luxury apartment complex! Nope, no one that he knew lived there, however they have a rooftop covered lounge that was available for him to rent out, along with the GORGEOUS party room. We went at about the time that Ray would be proposing to see if the lighting would be ideal.

After snapping a few pictures and sending them to Ray, He decided on which location he would propose at exactly, and we finalized the game plan.

I typed up an easy timeline for him to follow, and to share with the other people who were apart of the second surprise.

The day of...

Lemme just say, nerves were high for EVERYONE.

We all had one shot to make this perfect!

My assistant (Joshua) met Ray downstairs as his car arrived. He helped him and Ally (who was blindfolded) out of the car and silently up the stairs. She had absolutely no idea where she was!

I was hiding in the attached second room on the upstairs balcony, ready for them to arrive.

I captured some pictures of him helping her out of the car from the rooftop.

Once they got upstairs, I silently had my camera up and ready as he led her to the spot we agreed on. He un-blindfolded her and her face lit up with excitement as she realized....

SHE SAID YES!

Well, duh!

I honestly almost started crying along with her! It was the sweetest thing to witness and capture.

I finally got to introduce myself and check out that RING.

I was blown away.

GORGEOUS.

Second Surprise!!

Now that the BIG surprise was over, it was time for me to help lead them to the second one.

I posed them for about ten minutes to get some more engagement pictures, they had some champagne, and then I asked them...

"Do you guys wanna check out some places down stairs too? There is a beautiful room they gave me access to that we can use!"
"Sure!"

Josh & I led them downstairs & they told us their story. They met on VACATION! Like how romantic is that.

We got a few more pictures, and then I went into the room alone to "turn the alarm off"

All of their friends and some family were hiding in this room.

They decorated, got the food ready, and were hiding!

I told Josh to wait out there with them for about 30 seconds as I got into the perfect place to capture their faces....

The Celebration

Ally & Ray celebrated their night surrounded by the people who love them.

Congrats Ray & Ally!

I am so thankful you chose me to capture these precious moments.

I had such a great time & you were both the sweetest to work with. <3
